NEW INNOVATION: Toyota to develop an electric vehicle charger -

TOKYO: Toyota Motor Corp. develop an electric vehicle charger (fuel cell buses) to supply electricity to your home or office for day-to-day needs as well as in emergency situations of natural disasters.

The development of these buses are part of the disaster control and will be used in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture and which started yesterday, Monday (3/9).

This bus has V2H technology that can be used to support the existing 20-screen monitor in the office of the disaster control center.

V2H technology produces electricity from a chemical reaction of hydrogen into water vapor by-product of electrical energy.

The electrical energy generated will be stored in batteries and then used drive an electric motor.

The technology is environmentally friendly and has more power than electric cars. Because of the production, there is residual energy that can be used for other needs. The rest of the energy that is supplied to the building.

Toyota revealed the ability of this technology one is able to turn the power supply in the school gymnasium with a consumption of about 100kWh for five days.

The world's largest carmaker said V2H bus was developed from FCHV-Bus which is an experimental vehicle Toyota in the development of alternative fuel cell technology for large vehicles.

This bus has two electric outlet (AC 100 V, 1.5 kW) in the cabin that could supply a maximum power of 3kW.

Toyota will plan V2H test system for bus-powered fuel cell buses in 2013 and 2014 as part of the Toyota City Low-Carbon Verification Project. (Bloomberg/17/Bsi)
